bknelsen -- You're right! It would be a perfect father's day gift ... When the day comes that I get a gift of ballgame tickets from my daughter, I'll be very very happy.

I also think it's cool to support minor league baseball teams .. fans there have a purity and love of the game that is not duplicated.

Thanks for posting, let us know about attending the game with your Dad.

Another cool thing is your daughter will have your post to preserve the memory. With the ease of digital photography, video and sites to archive moments in time, today's kids first game memories will have full color images and detailed descriptions of their experience to reflect upon. Of course, it will be pretty weak compared to the full sensory hologram their kids will bank!

My dad was the one who got me hooked on baseball, too. I don't remember my first game, but I remember that we had season tickets to the Syracuse Chiefs, our local AAA team. Getting Glenallen Hill's autograph was a highlight of my younger years. :) My dad taught me how to keep score, what a strike looked like, and how to shell peanuts. I do remember my first game at Fenway. I was in second grade and the Sox were playing the Blue Jays. Clemens and Todd Stottlemyer were the starting pitchers. It's been a while since I've been to a ballgame with my dad. Since we both still live in Syracuse, that sounds like a helluva Father's Day gift.
