This card is unique in that it shows Grace in a spring training jersey, number #53. The photo would have been taken in spring training 1988, before Gracie made the big league team. Seeing him in anything other than a #17 jersey is awkward for most Cubs fans!

These are fun types of cards. It's right up the alley of Al Yellon and the group that put together the book Cubs by the Numbers … At least this Topps Rookie selection was a proper one!
