Jim Maloney

Each day we feature something from our collection of childhood bubblegum memories.  For those who remember them, these baseball cards have their own stories to tell.

What does this card bring to mind for you? Please share in the comments!

  • When I was much younger, I couldn't understand why Maloney was never considered for the Hall of Fame. He seemed to win 20 games often, had some no-hitters...Couldn't figure it out.
  • I never appreciated how he fit into the "names" from that era until I saw some League Leader stats and who he appeared with on the lists. One thing about Jim though, if you do a search of his baseball cards from the sixties, the pose in each one is almost identical. Funny.
