I was glad to have had him as a part of the Red Sox for a couple of years .. seemed like a class act. Paul, I know you have a different preference :-) .. but does anyone else think he goes in with an Expos cap to join teammate Gary Carter?

As much as I liked him as a Cub, he really should go in as an Expo. He was really good then…

Now, if we could only get Tim Raines in there where he belongs.

I loved the Hawk. Just watching him throw the ball around between innings was a treat. He had a rifle for an arm.

My favorite story about him involves a game I saw @ Wrigley Field in 1991 (maybe?). He was in right field, and I could see that a struggle was going on in the bleachers. Somebody had a blow-up doll in the basket, and they were trying to get it onto the field. And Dawson was watching this, I think. Anyway, I remember thinking what would happen if it made it onto the field. It never did, but in today's world I'm sure it would have been on YouTube or something. But it was a different world back then.

Hi Rob .. never know what's going to happen on an afternoon in the bleachers at Wrigley eh?
